Video on the Way!

Here is just a snippet of the large amount of video content we’ll be putting out in the near future. This is “Scissors” from our July 3rd show at the EARL in Atlanta.

It’s Been a While…

Ah, the era of social media. It has made us lazy with the website updates; we stay on top of Facebook and Twitter, and neglect our own site! Sigh.

But oh buddy, lots of stuff has happened in the almost 2 months since our last update! For starters, we released our second full-length LP “Gesture of a Gentleman” (you can buy it here), and marked the occasion with an amazingly-fun show at the Star Bar. The night was recorded (in video and audio) and we’ll be posting clips online in the near future.

As many of you have no doubt noticed, we’ve been getting a fair amount of radio play these days – big ups to the WRAS crew for getting the ball roliin’ on that!

Just this past weekend, we performed alongside our good friends Blair Crimmins and Lindsay Appel at the EARL’s pre-Independence Day bash. The place was packed with beer-swilling musical patriots, and what a blast we had. Thanks a million to all who came!

A little tidbit about our horizon: we’re currently working on what will become our next record. This will be an EP containing brand new tunes, recorded with very eclectic instrumentation (ukulele, hammered dulcimer, banjo, piano, percussion, pedal steel, dobro, etc). We think you’ll love it! More on this soon…

Performance/Interview on AM1690 in Atlanta

For those of you who missed our interview and acoustic performance on AM1690 earlier this week, here it is in streaming glory!

AM1690 Performance 05.12.10

Big thanks go out to Neal Cohen for hosting us in his studio, and AM1690 for putting our racket on the airwaves!

“Grant Park” Live Video

Courtesy of the wonderful folks at IndieATL and WRAS, here is a live in-studio performance of the first song from our new record.

Here Comes “Gesture of a Gentleman”

Our new album “Gesture of a Gentleman” is officially finished and will be ready for us to start sharing online later this week. The album contains 13 new songs and clocks in at almost exactly 1 hour. For the initial 250 copies, there will be 50 copies each of 5 different covers; below is one of the covers:

The album will first be available at our CD Release show at the Star Bar on May 15, and then in stores and online the next week.

Speaking of our CD Release show…. We are thrilled that our good friend ADRON has agreed to join us for the show! She will play an extended set, and then we will play for a good long while as well.

Album Update

We are currently putting the finishing touches our our new record, and we hope to have it ready to go by mid-April. And because we’re overachievers, we’re already planning our next couple of releases (more on that soon!).

Also, we added a little Facebook fanpage thing on the right of this page – if you aren’t our fan on Facebook yet…well, there’s no time like the present.

Last Night!

We had a great time at the Star Bar last night – the house was packed to the brim with people and great energy. Thanks!

At our recent shows, we’ve been previewing a lot of the material from our forthcoming album “The Gesture of a Gentleman,” and people have been asking us for the titles of the new songs. So here is last night’s setlist for those who asked!

1. Grant Park
2. Mothers & Fathers
3. Echoes
4. Fortune
5. A Call to Arms
6. The Gesture
7. Motel

It’s Official: CD Release Show May 15

That’s right, our CD release show is officially scheduled:

A Fight to the Death celebrate the release of “The Gesture of a Gentleman”
Presented by Team Luis
The Star Bar, Atlanta
Saturday, May 15, 2010
Lineup TBA

If you were one of the kind folks who joined our Kickstarter.com project last year, then you will get your hands on the disc much earlier, but to everyone else…May 15th is your first chance. It will then be available in local stores and the usual online outlets the following week.

More info soon!

Recording Update

Just a quick update for ya – we’re working hard on the new record, now officially titled “The Gesture of a Gentleman.” Things are moving along quite well, and we’re going to shoot for a mid-spring 2010 release.

As we’ve been working on the album, we’ve been much better about updating our Facebook page than this site…so maybe you should head on over there if you haven’t already! We’ve been posting short video clips and photos over there as we go along.

We’ve also recently updated out YouTube Channel with a bunch of videos as well: www.youtube.com/user/afttd
