Our next two shows are gonna be a ton of fun, and we sure hope you’ll be there to share it with us! First up is the Gringo Star CD release show at the Star Bar on Oct 3 – we are extremely honored to have been asked to play this show alongside the Gringos (one of our favorite locals!) and the always fantastic Anna Kramer. If you haven’t heard Gringo’s new material – you are totally missing out!
Then the following night, Oct 4, we will play at Lenny’s with our old friends The Interiors. A couple of us actually went to high school with their singer, and haven’t seen him in nearly 10 years! The Interiors are coming down from Chicago to support their new record (out now on 54 40 or Fight! records), and this show will serve as a homecoming of sorts. Their record is amazing, and we hope to pack that place out for them….so come one come all. Also on the bill is Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun – we’re fans of this band, and are very pleased to finally get to share a bill with them! Come come!

We are thrilled to have participated in this year’s Other Sound Festival, and we had a great time at the EARL on Saturday. We shared the bill with a handful of other locals: Dropsonic, Missile Command, The Booze, and Rev Rebel & the Sound Supreme. It was an absolute pleasure to play with our old friends (Dropsonic and Missile Command) and our new friends (Rev Rebel), all of whom performed very well in addition to being super-nice people. It was nice to see that members of all of these bands were in the audience for each others’ sets; nothing bugs us more than bands who lock themselves away backstage (like super-cool rockstars!) only to emerge when it is time for their set. And here’s a tip for bands full of snarky little shits: your cooler-than-cool attitudes will only take you so far before nobody wants to play with you – have some common courtesy and kindness for god’s sake or you will earn a reputation that is far less than favorable. Enough about that.
Let me also state that after all these years, Dropsonic is still the tightest, loudest, and overall best rock band in town. Why do these guys still have day jobs?
