Video From Corndogorama

Check out this video of AFTTD playing the as-yet unreleased song “Echoes” at Corndogorama on 6/28. Video courtesy of OhmPark.com!

What a Night!

UPDATE: Photographer extraordinaire Kevin Griggs has posed a set of pics from the show on his Flickr page HERE.

After a long day full of dead celebrities, war & protests overseas, the tanking economy, and other such bad news…it was very nice to party our asses off with a room full of drinking, dancing, screaming friends and fans last night (6/25)! Our show at the Star Bar with Adron, Royal Bangs, and Lindsay Appel was an absolute blast; the crowd was large, sweaty, and of questionable sobriety. All of the bands on the bill had styles very different from one another, and there were no weak links – each band was at the top of their game!!

I suspect that this here site will get a handful of first-time visitors as a result, so to all of you newbies…WELCOME! Check the menu to the right for all the many ways you can harass us and follow us around!

I’m told that the always-wonderful OhmPark.com will have photos from the show up soon, and I’ll be sure to link them here whenever they pop up.

Come to the Atlanta Paste Mag Fundraiser!

071009-paste-showWe’ve been asked to join Attractive Eighties Women, members of Y-O-U, and others to help raise some cash for Paste Magazine by playing their fundraising event at the Earl. The show will take place on Friday July 10, and we promise that it will be awesome.

We’re currently putting the finishing touches on a couple more brand new songs that we will debut at that show, in addition to our usual repertoire of booty-shakin gypsy salsa mambo tex-mex jams!

We’ll remind you all later (don’t worry!), but please mark your calendars for what will be a great night of music and merriment!

Thanks to both Ohmpark and Kevin for the great shots!

I Feel Like the EARL Smells

Yeah, I’m a bit tired from playing the EARL last night, but it was worth it as usual. I Was a King played some really great grungy Norwegian pop, though they sadly did so in front of a tragically small crowd. I think my favorite part of the night was seeing Travel by Train for the first time – they opened the show and were really darn good. The band was solid and singer Kelly Taylor had a killer voice (think Fiona Apple meets Feist) – they’ve apparently only been around for about a year, so I look forward to seeing them get some more recognition!

We also got asked to play at a Paste Magazine fundraiser in July – more details on that to come!

Pictures from the Bond Party

Here are a couple of random cool photos taken by the awesome Matt Smith at the James Bond party last month at Fishmarket. There were a bunch of people there shooting video and taking pictures – if you happen to have any, let us know!
