Crappy News!!!

left_shoulder_xray_img_5700We are sad to report that our drummer, Mark Carbone, was injured in a bike accident over the weekend. He’ll recover just fine, but he is musically out-of-commission for a while due to a broken clavicle and rib. As a result, we hare canceling or postponing all shows between now and the end of August.

Obviously we regret having to do this, but we want Mark to take whatever time he needs to properly recover. And if you’ve seen us play live before, you’ll understand why using a substitute drummer is out of the question – we rely on each others’ on-stage chemistry a bit too much for that!!

As it currently stands, we plan to return at the end of August; in the meantime please send Mark good thoughts, prayers, and voodoo magic as he recovers. I’ll do my best to keep you all entertained here by posting some demos, videos, live tracks, and other odds & ends to help tie you over until we can return to form and finish our new record!

Best-

AFTTD is Almost 2 Years Old

afttd-postmarks-earlThat’s right – two years ago on August 1, we played our first show as a full band at the EARL in Atlanta. At that show, the band consisted of me (CJ), Mark Carbone, Colin Jaccino, and Nathan Green. George had not yet joined the band (though I believe he was in attendance that night), and the songs we played would barely be recognizable to our fans now. Hmmm…maybe I should post an Mp3 of a song or two from that show…. AFTTD EARL

Maybe later tonight. ;)

The image to the right shows just how much we’ve changed over the past two years; we dress a bit snappier these days than we did then (this image is actually from our 2nd show, Sept 10 2007)! I think we only actually still play one song that we did that night…the rest have disappeared! Just for giggles, here’s our setlist from that night:

1. Burn This Town
2. A Single Shot (still unreleased)
3. Old Black Chains
4. Love You Til the End (Pogues cover)
5. On Crutches (from the “End of Continent Sadness” EP)
6. In the River (still unreleased)
7. Like a Machine
8. This Fear is Irrational

073009-twains-smSo, to celebrate out anniversary, we are playing an extended set of tunes on July 30th at Twain’s in Decatur, GA. And the show is FREE! Yay! In addition to our regular set staples, you can expect to hear us play a mix of really old stuff that we never play anymore, some fun covers, and even a pair of brand new just-written songs. The show starts at 8:30 pm, and we’ll play until 11 pm (with a 30 min break in the middle).

Come celebrate with us!!
