06.25.08 ||| Album Finished!
We have finished the record. Finally. It is being pressed as I type, and will be dumped onto an unsuspecting world for the first time at our CD Release Show July 19th. We are super proud of this record, and we really can't wait for everyone to hear it! We're also thrilled about the Release show - we'll be taking over the Highland Ballroom in Atlanta for the evening, and we'll be joined by some of our favorite musicians in town. Opening the evening is a fantastic trio comprised of Jamie Shepard, Ben Gettys, and Colin Bragg; these guys will likely embarrass us with their amazing musicianship! We will then take the stage for about 45-60 minutes - we'll be playing a nice cross-section of old and new material. Following our set, local DJ Black Dominoes (well known around teh Interwebs for his fantastic Vampire Weekend remix) will take us into the late-night with old school soul and rare garage tracks.
Perhaps best of all, this show will be FREE to attend. A whole night's worth of entertainment for the rock-bottom price of $0...can't beat it! Here's the icing on the cake: if you come to our July 3rd Star Bar show (also FREE!!) you can pick up a promo CD single (also FREE!!). Then bring that prmo CD with you to our CD Release show and get our new LP for $5.
So essentially, we are doing everything we can to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to see us for free and get our record for cheap!
06.10.08 ||| Album Almost Done!
We have finished the basic tracking for our forthcoming self-titled debut LP. We recorded as much of it as possible live in our rehearsal space in order to capture the raw-ness of our live show, and are now in the overdubbing/post production process. The LP will first be available on July 19th at our CD release show at the Highland Ballroom; it will be in stores and online shortly thereafter! It will consist of 11 tracks, and will come in a nice little recycled cardboard digi-pak type case; of course you can also get it through the usual online sources as well (iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, Aime Street, etc).
Needless to say, we are very excited about this release! More details will follow soon regarding the CD release party, but rest assured it will be a lovely evening for all and certainly won't be your typical boring rock club cd party...
04.03.08 ||| New music
We have finished two tracks for our new LP and are making them available here for free download. You can also get a limited edition CD single for FREE at our shows! In fact, we'll have a bunch of them on hand tonight at the Star Bar...
03.27.08 ||| New Site, Record on the Way
We hope you enjoy the new website we have launched, and look forward to your feedback (positive only, please). Also, tracking for the new record officially begins in 2 days; it will be finished quickly!

03.19.08 || Man, ParkGrounds is fun
As you’ve probably noticed from our recent show schedule, we’re really digging the concept of playing venues other than traditional ‘rock’ clubs. One such venue is ParkGrounds, which we have now performed at twice; this place has a very intimate room, courteous staff, and they let bands get away with pretty much anything. We were able to throw a free show and gave away free crappy beer, and managed to pack that place out. Photos to come!
Thanks to everyone who came to listen (and not just to drink the free beer…), and rest assured that we’ll be shooting for a repeat performance there soon!
12.19.07 || Drunken Unicorn 12/21
We’re sharing the bill with our good friends No River City and Wighat on Friday, 12/21 at the Drunken Unicorn. Come!
Also, AFTTD is in the pre-production phase of recording our debut full-length record with the current line-up. We’ll begin the actual recording shortly after Xmas, and we’re shooting for an early Spring ‘08 release.
We’ll keep ya posted!
09.11.07 || Another One Down the Hatch
Thanks to all who came out to the EARL on a lousy Monday night to see us play. We had a great time, and really enjoyed playing some of our super-new songs!
We’re hoping to see some new visitors around the site soon - we ran out of CDs last night so we were directing people here to download it for free (please do so if you haven’t already!).
On the horizon: We have a couple of shows lined up in Athens, the first of which is September 20 at the Go Bar with Claire Campbell and the incomparable Daniel Clay. It should be a very low-key show, full of understated and eclectic instrumentation. We are trying our best to play some new songs at each show; we have a back catalog to draw from as well as new tunes that are almost writing themselves.
More soon!
08.08.07 || Upcoming Show
We just signed on to play at the EARL on Sept. 10 with Baby Robots (Austin) and Today the Moon Tomorrow the Sun. Yeah, its another weeknight…sorry ’bout that.
At this show we will debut a couple of new songs as well as at least one new body! We’re pleased to have George Wallace (Hot Grits) lending us his rad pedal steel talents, and if we play our cards right we might also be joined by a new violinist.
Awesomeness abounds.
08.02.07 || Thanks!
We’d like to thank everyone who came out to our show at the EARL last night - we had a great time debuting the new lineup! We’re gonna work out some kinks and we’ll be adding additional show dates soon.
NOTE: There was a photographer there who grabbed quite a few shots while we played, but we didn’t catch his name. If you happen to know who that was, let us know - we’d love to see the shots!
